I consider
myself a vivacious wife, mother, and entrepreneur with
a passion for health and fitness. I come from a close
family of 9 and grew up in St. Augustine, Florida. After
meeting and marrying the love of my life Andy Gillis,
we moved to Atlanta to pursue our careers...mine was in
banking...though I have always had a passion for fitness
and loved being active.
Pure Women's Fitness came to be by accident, when some
of my coworkers asked me to train them after work several
days a week. So when the bank closed down we turned on
our 80's cardio and had a great workout! After a few months,
one of my coworkers asked me why I was in banking and
not in fitness...I didn't have an answer. Encouraged,
I pursued my first fitness certification while working
out my notice at the bank, and Pure Women's Fitness was
born! Of course, I now have my business account and many
fit friends at that bank!
Upon the birth of our precious little girl Olivia, we
decided to move home to St. Augustine to be closer to
our families.
Thanks to loyal clientele and my wonderful staff, our
Atlanta branch is booming and I am thrilled to have
been able to bring the Pure Women's Fitness concept to
the lovely ladies in my hometown! Atlanta ladies, please scroll down to
meet your Atlanta trainers and feel free to contact them...I
know they would be so happy to chat with you about your
fitness needs and gain your trust and business. I would
love for you to be one of our success stories!

every since.

Sarah Kowalke is originally from Arbor Vitae, Wisconsin and has lived in Smyrna, GA just over a year. Prior to moving here Sarah lived in Madison, Wisconsin for 8 years. She completed a Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and later began working at a national payroll company. In May of 2008 Sarah was swayed to Atlanta by her brother, Erik, sister in-law, Shannon and the newest arrival, Logan who is 15 months old.
Sarah’s interest in personal fitness began at age 15 when she first joined the cross country team at her high school. Since then, Sarah has been an avid runner, competing in local races and completing her first marathon in January of this year. To complement her running Sarah understands the importance of good nutrition, yoga, and strength training. She emphasizes total body wellness and understands that regular exercise and healthy eating habits are not just a short term goal but a long term lifestyle.
Sarah’s passion lies in having the opportunity to help others succeed where they once thought they never would. She was not born a runner as she was only able to complete a quarter of a mile when she first joined her cross country team. She reminds others that anything is possible as long as you have patience, an open mind, and desire. Sarah thrives off of helping others get to where they want to be, this is where she finds success.
Sarah is a certified personal trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine. She is currently a full-time student pursuing a Masters degree in Professional Counseling from Richmont Graduate University here in Atlanta. Sarah is also an active attendee of Buckhead Church. Even while she is not training for a race, Sarah stays active by running 4-5 days a week with her running partner Lauren, and incorporates strength training and yoga into her routine. Sarah plans on completing her second half marathon this fall and aspires to do a triathlon next spring.
